A few months ago I made this collaboration with Pablo Aparicio (https://www.artstation.com/archeopablo) for Kore Formacion (www.koreformacion.com) to create this column, the "Colonna Santa". It's part of the ancient Constantinian Basilica of Saint Peter in the Vatican 's main altar. You can visit it currently also in the Vatican City in Rome.
It was a very nice challenge and although we had images without enough quality to appreciate the details, comparing 3D model with the original one, it doesn't differ much.
✏️ This piece was made with Javier Durán who was in charge of preparing the tileable alphas with Substance Designer for the ionic-type decorations, while I worked on the sculptural part. I also mention that the great assets of "Fred's Ornaments" that as used as blocking for the development of many plant motifs :D
